Menstrual Health - Training & Coaching

The average woman will have around 450 periods in her lifetime, a total of 3,500 days or nearly 10 years.

A menstrual cycle begins with the first day of your period, or menstruation and starts over again when the next period begins.

As women, we often understand far too little about what happens with our body, hormones and energy throughout our menstrual cycle. We tend to experience our menstruation as cumbersome and always coming at the wrong time. This results in spending half of our months and therefore half of our years being bothered by the natural processes of our healthy bodies.

Your menstrual cycle is so much more than just the few days that you are bleeding, it consists of the actual menstruation, the follicular phase - also known as the preovulatory phase, the ovulation, and the luteal phase - also known as the postovulatory phase.

Your body goes through significant changes through each of these phases and this also impacts your mind and spirit. It translates through to your personal and professional relationships, but also to the relationship with yourself.

Many women experience PMS, painful periods, emotional disbalances and lack of productivity during their cycles. The menstrual symptoms are not necessary when we live in harmony with our cycles and adjust accordingly.

Our Menstruality teachings and workshops have been developed to help you gain insight into the patterns of your cycle, and help you understand how to anticipate and nurture the different stages of your cycle. We create space for your experiences and discuss the impact of your infradian rhythm on your personal, social and professional life.

This therapy will teach you how you can use the strengths of each season in your cycle to your advantage. You will get actionable information to include in your day-to-day life and learn to live in harmony with your beautifully functioning body.

You can either sign up for one session or sign up for a 3-month program.

One session will educate you on the menstrual cycle and give you insights into what you can do to embrace your cycle and how to work with it instead of against it.

Our 3-month program is an intense program where we will be analyzing three of your full menstrual cycles and where we will be actively guiding you towards working with your cycle instead of against it. We will have 14 weekly meetings. Each meeting will be tailored to where you are in your cycle and what you are experiencing and work towards your intention and purpose for the program.

We will meet in person on the first session and once a month afterwards. All other weekly sessions will take place online.

It is also possible to enter this program as a fixed group of max. 4 participants - this group can consist of your friends, family, colleagues or any other community. There is a maximum of 4 participants to allow space to address all your needs during the sessions.

You can expect positive developments in relationships, at work, in your social life, your emotional fitness and simply with regards to your self-love and self-acceptance.

Please note that this therapy yields the best results when you are not taking any hormonal contraceptives as you do not have a natural cycle when you do take them.

Facial Massage

GUA SHA

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese massage practice involving long strokes and soft scraping of the skin to help improve blood circulation and lymph drainage, stimulate energy points, and reduce inflammation.

Facial Gua Sha stimulates the underlying acupressure points of the face and their respective energetic meridians. These facial acupressure meridian points correspond to specific organs of the body. As one beautifies their face, they also inadvertently heal the rest of their body.

We will apply an essential herbal oil on your face, neck and décolleté and use kansa gua sha tools to perform the massage. Kansa is a metal alloy consisting mainly of copper and tin. It is one of the most useful alloys in the history of the Ayurvedic lifestyle. Kansa - the original name derived from Ayurveda is regarded as "the healing metal" since the era of the Vedas in India.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Rejuvenating facial contour - toning, firming and lifting sagging skin

  • Reducing inflammation, puffiness and dark circles

  • Brightening the complexion and creating a healthy radiant glow

  • Relieving tension

  • Enhancing the skin’s ability to breath

  • Feeding skin and increasing ability to absorb vital nutrients

  • Purifying tissue and freeing accumulation of waste

  • Soothing and venting the channel system

  • Regulating the free flow of ki and blood.

The treatment can be uncomfortable at times as we loosen up tight areas in and around the face. It is however not supposed to be painful so we always take your sensitivity into account.

HERBAL POULTICE

The poultice blends fragrant herbs, which are wrapped in cotton sheets or muslin and then steam-heated. This procedure allows the herbs' essential oils to be released, providing the foundation for a nutrient-rich massage for relaxing the muscles and stimulating blood circulation.

The herbs used are Cassumunar Ginger, Tamarind Leaves, Kaffir Lime, Yellow, Black & White Tumeric, Lemongrass, Shikakai, Camphor and Sea Salt.

The poultice is used to warm the muscles, melt tension and detoxify the skin. Used with a combination of techniques from acupressure and lymphatic drainage massage - the poultice is effective in reducing swelling, dark circles and improving nutrition to the skin, as well as lifting and contouring.

This facial therapy focuses on your face, neck, shoulders and crown. Particular attention is paid to function of the facial muscles and lymphatic drainage pathway.

The herb poultices are homemade so all herbs are fresh. Some of the herbs used are hibiscus, java apple leaves and turmeric root.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Less puffiness in the face.  Mainly around the eyes, cheeks, and jawline.

  • A smoother-looking appearance around fine lines and wrinkles.

  • A more lifted, firm feeling face and neck.

  • An overall radiant glow and clearer complexion.

  • Reduction in redness some days after your treatment.

Reiki & Chakra Balancing

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life force and refers to an ancient form of hands-on healing. It is encoded in the genetic makeup of everything that is or has been alive.

There is a non-physical energy that gives life to every living organism. The Japanese call it Ki, the Chinese call it Chi and in the Western world it is often referred to as the Holy Spirit. We carry this energy in and around our bodies from the moment we are conceived. Ancient Eastern cultures have harnessed and applied this energy for healing for thousands of years.

Many successful disciplines such as Tai Chi, Feng Shui, Meditation, Yoga and Acupuncture have been developed to control and greatly enhance the flow of this energy in and around the body.

The energy itself is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient.

This energy, the Ki, can be activated for the purpose of healing. This is Reiki.

When you feel healthy physically, emotionally and mentally, the flow of Ki in your body is high and unencumbered. Life seems easier to deal with and you have a higher resistance to illness and disease. When your Ki is low because you are under stress or feeling unhappy or tired, you will be more susceptible to disease and sickness and you will find it difficult to deal with life’s challenges.

According to Reiki, pain and trauma can remain stuck or stagnant in your body unless pure energy is channeled in to keep it flowing.

Reiki works on the body, mind and spirit by stimulating your own natural healing abilities. Reiki is neither positive nor negative - it is the highest and most profound vibration of life.

There are seven main energy centers in the body that control the flow of the universal life energy - the chakras. Each chakra is responsible for supplying energy to specific parts of the body. When they are blocked, the flow of energy becomes diluted and the body, mind and spirit suffer from the impact.

When the mind, body and spirit are in harmony, the biological intelligence that governs the body’s resources and allows it to heal itself and function properly is intensified.

Reiki treatments re-open the chakras and re-balance the flow of Ki, which in turn stimulates the body’s immune system and natural healing abilities.

A Reiki session at our practice will take between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the needs of your energy field.

You will be lovingly welcomed with a cup of tea and we will create space to talk about your intention and purpose for the session. It does not need to be anything concrete. Remember, Ki is omniscient.

Before we get started, we will explain exactly what the treatment will look like and will allow space for any questions that you may have.

You will lie down on a treatment table - fully clothed. We will do a breathing exercise to transit from your busy day and hectic life to being present in the moment. Solfeggio frequencies will be played in the background - these electromagnetic tones will help you relax, raise your consciousness and aid in your healing.

After the breathing exercise we will start with the Reiki treatment where your attuned Reiki practitioner will serve as a bridge between you and pure Ki.

Every experience is unique. Many people experience deep relaxation, feelings of stillness, peace, warmth and security. Some people experience the energy as heat, tingles, or vibration, and others see colors and memories. There can also be an emotional release through crying and laughter. All is part of an energy cleanse and all is welcome.

Are you new to Reiki and would you like to learn more before you commit to a treatment? We completely understand that. Feel welcome to reach out and we will address any questions or concerns that you have.

Please note that we sadly cannot treat you with Reiki in the following cases:

  • You have a pacemaker | Reiki can alter its rhythm.

  • You suffer from Diabetes Mellitus and are taking insulin injections | Reiki can reduce the amount of insulin you require.
